The Wilderness Trails are perfect for snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Our trails are routinely groomed once there is a healthy snow base.

The Town of Deerfield has snowshoes and a limited selection of XC skis for you to sign out and use. Please contact the Town Clerk's Office Monday - Friday for more information (315) 724 - 0415 x 223

Please consider following the following trail etiquette while enjoying our trails in the wintery months :

  • When the snow is deep, snowshoes are preferred when walking on the trails. Boots create holes in the trails that, when the next snow falls, are covered but not completely filled in and may cause tripping hazards.
    • If you do not own or have access to snow shoes, please contact the Town Clerk.
  • When X-country ski tracks are laid by the groomer or made by skiers, please do not walk on them
  • SKIERS - please keep to the right ; WALKERS - please keep to the left. This method is the best way to keep a safe and enjoyable experience for all. There are places that are narrow and is more difficult to adhere to, just please try as best as you can to be mindful of others
  • Please continue to pick up after your dogs even in the wintery snow

See you on the trails!

In case of an emergency, please call 911

Deerfield Snow Trails

* * * Snow trails are now OPEN! Please ride safely this season and remember to stay on the marked trails * * *

Remember how great of a riding season we had last winter?? Well, we are hoping for another great one this year and it will be here before we know it! Last year we had some of the best trails in the state and we are looking forward to providing that same standard this season.

Our meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of the month from September through April at 7pm. They are held at the Eagles Club on Cosby Manor Road. Our meetings are open to club members and any landowner on our trail system that wishes to attend. If you're interested in joinging the club, that can be done at the meeting as well. We are always looking for new people to step up and get involved. It doesn't have to be trail work related if that's not your thing. We need volunteers to help with raffles, fundraising, grant writing, the list goes on and on.

Join now and be entered to win one of (2) $500 from NYSSA cash prizes for joining a club early.

Coming January 17th is our annual Chicken BBQ held at the Eagles Club on Cosby Manor Rd. We open the doors at noon and usually sell out quick so get there early!!

* * * REMINDER * * * Trails DO NOT OPEN until after the CLOSE of Big Game Hunting Season. Please respect our landowners and the trail system by waiting until the Club gives the okay to open.
